Hey Jeff,

I have yours and your deposit - don't worry. You did not get lost, just in the second batch. I'm hoping this will go pretty quick now that they have the prototype worked out. Thanks for the block/trans info.

Lou

 No prob, Lou. As previously, stated, just lemme know when you need to know which tranny I'll be using. Probably the V8 version, since I think I'll be looking for the .63 overdrive.

Any advice on looking for T-5's? I've been using good 'ol car-parts.com to look around, but it looks like most of them sell them rebuilt for $700-900 rebuilt, + a core charge. For that money, I might as well go with a brand new one from Pherd Motorsports for $1149.95 and has the .63 OD. Guess I need to check some local yards, but maybe a rebuilt with a warranty would be a better idea...

I did a bunch or research on these back in 95-96. there were huge differences internally between the ford and gm trans. the ford was a much bettre built unit. they offered what was acalled a world class t5.
they are expensive but stronger. The gm t5's wouldnt hold up to a 305 ho. I would sugest researching the t5 specifically and getting the stronger models if possible. Luckily there are tons of high wuality rebuild parts for these transmissions if needed.
Unless your slant is stock. If it is dont worry about it.

Greg and all,

Good timing on your question. I just spoke with Robbie H over lunch today and he said next week the 1st batch will be done. I'll PM you with balance payment details.

Lou

Where are the opening volleys on this project - what the stipulations are and how you get on board, etc.?

Ross,

Please search "T5" in this forum for previous posts (last 7 mo) on this project.

You are looking at $230+ship both ways for the bellhousing plate/machining and you have to supply a Slant/OD bellhousing. If you get one to me in the next 2-3 weeks, it can be added at that price.

Lou

Hey Folks,

The first round of BHs is done and I'll ship them out today or tomorrow.

I have dropped off the second round of 6, which should be done in about 2 weeks.

Robbie can do the crank/pilot adapters, and I will give him numbers of each kind to make soon. Give me any last minute orders ASAP.

Cost for those will be $30 + ship. Hopefully I can include some in the 2nd/3rd round ship outs...

Cheers,

Lou

Hi Lou,

I sent my check last week. I think you already had me down for one, but if not, sign me up for a pilot adapter for an early crankshaft.

Greg

Lou,

For the adapter I need late crank/ford v-6. I will send you a check but I need to get an idea on what I still owe you for postage for the bell and for the adapter?

Looks like I will be coming home from Wyoming with a new bellhousing waiting for me wooohooo. Now I need to get off my butt and find the tranny.

Thanks for all your assistance with this Lou.

Brian

Brian,

Your BH went out this morning. Shipping was $21. Please also include $34 for the pilot adapter with shipping incl for a total of $55.

Can you confirm for me what the input shaft to trans face measurement is for the V6 trans? I believe it is 7.85", but memory...

Lou

Lou,
I will try to get that information to you Friday or over the weekend. I have a line on the v6 tranny, so I should be able to get a measurement.

IIRC, there is a table of T5s on the internet with measurements.

Greg, Vince, and Thropars bells went out last night...

Hi Lou,

You had mentioned awhile ago that you could write up a "how to" document, and a Bill of Materials document, so that we could this ourselves. Are you still on for this? When do you think it would be done?

Thanks,

Greg
