i dont need a full list of parts right now, but there is a 77 volare with disc brakes at the local parts yard, which im going back to soon since i didnt realize i needed the throttle cable for its super six, and i am pretty sure i was reading somewhere that you need something off of an f body, but i cant remember for sure, or what it is, and i cant find that post, thanks!

grab the brake hoses, spindles, calipers and caliper brackets. rotors and pads too if they are in decent shape. the ball joints come from a 73-76 a-body along with the upper control arms.

No F-body parts are required. You can use the rotors and calipers no problem. The calipers have a larger piston than the '73-'75 A bodies, but same as the '76s. The spindle can be bolted on as well, but be aware that it's a little taller and affects the geometry somewhat.

I read another article somewhen that the different geometry is dangerous. What's that about?

Anyone ever swap out the whole K frame etc to an early A body? Is it possible? I bought my 77 Aspen for the Super Six/A-833OD setup and I like the front end arrangement. (put in bushings ball joints and am driving it daily now. $300 for the whole car $100 in front end parts (had the ball joints)).

Ehrenberger says it's not a good idea because it might put the balljoints out of their design range:

The folks at Big Block Dart think differently:

We know that the factory A-body geometry works. Getting the UCA's and knuckles off the same car would be the safest bet, but I don't think I'd be afraid of F-body knuckles. Call them a second choice.

Why not grab everything you can off the F-body, and look for the A-body knuckle where you find the UCA's?

BTW, I'd recommend getting new hoses. Cheap insurance. I used a set for a 1980 Volare, put the Volare calipers to the rear, and have no interference or strain problems.

In any case, you MUST get upper control arms from a later ('74-'76) disc brake A-body. The F-body uppers won't work for the conversion.
