I need everyones' advice on what is the best conversion kit to take my 225 from points to electronic. I also need advice on which manuals are the most helpful for my engine. I have a '77 Dodge D100.

Thanks in advance. :o)

hi. not trying to be smart but if its a 77 model it came with electronic ignition. unless someone converted it to points which would be a silly thing to do in my opinion.

I actually don't have the truck yet, I'm buying it this week. The guy was talking about the points, so I just assumed. One of two things: Either it's not a '77 engine, or the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. What year did they start putting electronic ignition in?

Any online stores you know of that carry it?

Electronic Ignition started in 73, your truck should have it. Look for the "ECU" on the fire wall or fender or just pop open the distributor and take a look.

I just bought one from Koller Dodge. They had the best price , but mine came with instructions for a V8 kit, and Koller didn't have copies of the slant 6 version, so they gave me the phone number for the Mopar Performance tech line.

It's not that hard to figure out the differences, but it sort of irritated me that they wouldn't run me a copy from another kit.

I dont have any experience with the newer electronic ignition modules. I did convert my 64 to an electronic distributor and an MSD ignition box. It gives you a smoother idle and better low range torque

Sorry for not getting back earlier. I've been out of town for a week.

I paid $129 + shipping.
