Is there any tech articles on the web that gives step-by-step instructions on how to assemble 1966 10 inch front brakes?


I'm having trouble with the new wheel cylinder trying to come apart when I try to hook up a shoe.

OK. I think I got it. (Or at least it worked on one side).

Still, is there a book or Internet reference that teaches a novice how to correctly work on 60s mopar drum brakes?

I am looking for more detail than in Factory Service manual or Haynes

I got the brakes together and even bled (the brakes).

I have an appt at the alignment shop at 2pm tomorrow.

I still have to install the shocks and torsion bars and torque the idler arm, tie-rod ends, upper and lower control arm bushings, strut rod and the shocks.

I think the ones I have to do with front wheels on the ground are
the control arm bushings and strut rod bushings, but I'm not sure.

And I have to set the ride height...

It sometimes helps to open the wheel cylinder's bleed valve during reassembly to allow the pressure to escape, as you push the cylinder's pistons inward.

I always tell first timers to do brakes "one side at a time" so they keep the other side assembled and can use that as a guide, the rear assemblies are also a good ref.
