Here's another opportunity to get some Slanted Racing started somewhere else in the country!

If you build it, they will come! :D

Thanks for the "heads up" Mopargary! Are you a drag racer, cruiser, builder?

Rob

:D Those of us from "down yonder" are very anxiously waiting for this event to unfold. The Houston area club always gave a 110% with this show and now that it will be overseen by a professional promoter, I hope it morphs into a "Monster Mopar -South" or something along those lines. If the impossible happens and I finish my Slanter I'll bring it as well as my Nostalgia Muscle '63 Dart (My Nostalgia Super Stock is a LONG way from being done...). I don't have any expertise on how to get a Slant race going at an event like this, but if mine is running, count me in. If not I'd be glad to throw in a gift certificate in the prize kitty or something. RICK

:? Well there was one slant racer there with an early Duster with a 170 !. And by golly he went rounds... I didn't see any other Texas board surfers there. A few things led to a lighter than hoped turnout, but the venue is excellent and the weather terrific so please try to work this into your calender for next year, and, with any luck we won't be fighting hurricanes, high gas prices and no hotel/motel space. If we can get this thing to fly, we won't have to travel a zillion miles to attend a Mopar show. I won Nostalgia Musclecar with one of my other toys, so I had a good weekend. I'd like all the Texans, Coon-ass', and Razorback slanters to give it a look for 2006. RICK

Hello - Thanks for the great feedback.
Do you want a Slant Six Class in Houston???
Someone needs to advise me of the parameters for your class.

 Hey gang, this gent is a class act. Despite God, the government and Mother Nature trying to ruin the 2005 event, he delivered everything he promised and the Texas Outsiders and Cowtown Mopars will not forget that. We're going to make a big effort to bring the whole battalion in 2006. As far as the Slant Six racing rules I think they go something like this: RULE #1- Anything goes as long as it's got a Chrysler Slant Six in it. RULE #2- Please see RULE #1 :):):):)

Michelle;

I'm sending you a few pages out of the Slant Six Racing News in a separate e-mail which covers the "rules".

And it almost sounds like Gayle will be joining us at Houston.

Also see you in Fontana, May 2007.

Mike told me tonight he is planning on bringing the 'Buzzin' Half Duzzin' car down.

 Mike being there will certainly be a positive "bump" for the class. Gang, if your Slant car runs ten's or twenty's it doesn't matter. Put a fresh tune up on it and try your skill at racing. Michelle, PM me with the price for the trophies for the Slant class, I'll sponsor them. I'll also see if I can come up with some more "stuff" to pass out. RICK

I may give it a shot just to support the class. Although the idea of getting on the track with an 18 second 1/4 mile will be pretty humiliating...

I've never raced before — can you provide the rules and regs?

Keep us posted on specifics. I notice the event flyer is a little sparse...

Basic rule is that it must be Slant powered and pass Tech. Tech at most tracks is very lax on a stock Slanter.

Don't be ashamed of racing an 18 second car. I won tons of money, trophies, and Top Ten jackets with a Slant Duster that never went faster than 18:50.

Just keep in mind this is an NHRA sanctioned track - so as far as tech goes its safety rules for the ET of vehicle that will get you in trouble.
Any questions feel free to ask. We will help any way we can with tech but always better if we get the question ahead of raceday.
