Is anyone working on the compleat, definitive disc brake conversion article for the archives? The scattered messages are a real task to pull together.

It might help to specify which swap the article would be for. There are two direct swaps (small bolt pattern discs and large bolt pattern dscs), at least one cobbled swap (f/m/j/b body spindles, 73-76 body upper control arms), as well as aftermarket (scarebird, wilwood, tubular control arms etc...).

There will never be a complete disc brake swap article, because the options available are many, varied, and in a constant state of flux. One might as well ask for a definitive recipe for chili.

There will never be a "compleat" disc brake swap article, because we are not living in the 1600s, which was the last time that word was used as anything but a cutesy affectation.

But, as Sandy says, if you feel the need to write such an article, by all means do so and post your efforts here for Wikipedia-style editing.

Tom Condran's book ("Performance Handling for Classic Mopars" or something like that.) was one attempt, combined with a suspension rebuild. It's dated and has some flaws, but is worth a read.
Mopar Action had an updated overview of sorts of brake upgrades in the June '05 issue. It concentrated on the B bodies, but showed a lot of options - from the Scarebird adapters to huge Mercedes rotors and Viper calipers.

But seriously, this would eb a good topic to cover in an article, especially since the parts Tom Condran refers to in his tome are starting to get scarce.

I think the hardest thing to find is the right spindles. Tubular A-arms are out there, but the spindles are hard to get. Everything else can be purchased new at the parts store. A nice addendedum to the areticle would list sources for these kinds of parts.
