I will be putting my 2bbl maifold and Carter BBD within the next couple of days. Do you use any kind of gasket sealer on the carb base gasket? It is a Felpro 60188, about a 3/8? of an inch thick.

I have the Magnecor plug wires 6008

and an MSD Blaster 2 coil. The coil wire fits on the Blaster, but not very well.

Just curious, in doing the HEI conversion, did you choose to bolt the HEI module to the fender

did you use sheet metal screws

and where did you run your ground wire to.

Sometimes I smear a little(!) regular engine oil on the base gasket if I have no choice but to use the cruddy thick-cardboard type. If I have one of the better coated ones (black or shiny grey) I just install 'em bare.

Do you have a manufacture/model# for ones you prefer?
Good choice...I'm working with Magnecor to try and get the correct 1960-1974 slant-6 plug boots back into production, further bulletins as events warrant.
H'mmm. Where is the fit problem? Terminal doesn't fit in the coil tower? Boot doesn't fit over the coil tower?

The Blaster 2 seems to have a deeper well than the stock coil. So I shoved it on, but It likes to back out a little because the connection doesn't go all the way down to lock in tight, but it still gets a connection.
Atop a piece of ¼"-thick aluminum a little wider and taller than the module overall, yes.

the metal place I got the aluminum from only had 3/8" thick. The more the merrier?
