Has anyone else had this problem? Stainless steel brakes corp. says minimum rim size is 14" for their a-body front disc brake kit. My 14x4/2 stock small bolt rims rub on the caliper just barely and I have to run spacers for them to fit. Any body have any suggestions? I really want to stay with steel wheels with dog dish caps. Thanks.

Changing to 14" x 5½" or 14" x 6" wheels should clear up the problem completely. Are you running SSB's aluminum calipers? Those are a tad wider than the original iron calipers.

They are iron calipers. I would love to find some stock steel 14x5/2 sbp wheels - anybody have any for sale? I'm not sure this will fix the problem since it is a problem with the caliper rubbing the face of the wheel center. Is the center different on the wider rims?

I ran into a similar problem on my 73 when I swapped over to disks (used factory disk brakes). Apparently there are drum specific steel wheels, and disk compatible steel wheels.

you should be able to get some steel wheels from pre-73 a-bodies that are either 14 X 5.5 or 14 x 6. If you cant find them on here, try moparts someone will have them.
