Does your model have the tube out the top of the carb? If so that's supposed to go to the Charcoal Cannister/Vapor collector on the late model cars...I think on yours you can get a 1975-ish 3 nipple fuel filter and connect that hose to the 3rd orfice on that particular filter...

It'll run fine, but you have two future things to worry about:

1) if the needle/seat assembly sticks open the tube will puke all your gas out over the manifold (depends on the gas and filter quality)

2) if your manifold gets hot and boils the gas in the bowl, it'll all come out the tube and onto your hot manfolds.

You can plug it with rubber plug, the excess will go out the pitot tube in the carb throat and flood the carb if something goes wrong.

After the car's run a few minutes, you shouldn't see new bubbles appearing in your fuel - it suggests you've a leak between the tank pickup and the pump - that area is under partial vacuum. An air leak can greatly decrease the amount of fuel reaching the carb.

If you only see bubbles with it really hot, then it may be the fuel boiling... also bad.

For what it's worth - I had them and, per postings here, upgraded to
new and better hose (post-pump) and FI-type clamps. No more bubbles,
but I can't explain it.
Good luck.
