#1

My trans is newly rebuilt with all new bearings / synchros stop rings / Gaskets.

I did the build my self with the Mancini Racing 833 Rebuild kit.

Anyway My trans jumps out of second gear when you let off the gas.(with the car in second gear)

It did the same thing before the rebuild. I set up the shifter crossover / neutral gate like the service manual tells me to.

It is a hurst shifter.

My guess is it does not go all they way into gear. -

#2 Reverse is a pain to get into - This was a problem before the rebuild, but now it is worse.

The clutch is fine - I know the clutch is operating properly.

I just removed another 833 OD that I had Rebuilt at the same time - and neither of these problems existed.

#1 I'd check if the register for the 1st-2nd lever ain't too tight. Be carefull because if it's too loose you'll have to fully shift out 2nd gear before going to 3rd... follow? you kinda loose the "speed shifting" between 2nd and 3rd if 1st/2nd lever is too loose.

#2 reverse... what do you want an easy shifting reverse trans for? mine's a hassle too. I kinda like that "I'm not backing up that easy, Mr." feature

This is a little late, but here goes. I have seen a few manuals that have this problem. It has always been a worn out "slider" or "drum". I am not sure what the mopar manuals call it, but it is the sliding part of the syncro assembly that engages first or second gear. The splines on the inside near the edges wear out and/or it gets loose on it's hub. You end up with a trans that hops out of gear when you let off the gas. The only fix is a new one or at least a good one. The brass blocker rings just hold the slider back until it's rpm matchs that of the gear you are shifting into, they have nothing to do with holding in gear.
