I painted the replacement head on my '67 Chryco-Industrial Red...and it's nothing like the orange paint under the oil encrusted grime on the timing cover, balancer, intake manifold...

Previous engine paint colour threads Here, Here, Here, and here.

Interesting info including a Ditzler paint code for the original factory red paint is here (search on page for the word "industrial")

Thanks for the list! I'm also painting my 1967 engine and seeking for the factory look.

How about following parts and their colors:

1. Power steering pump brackets
2. Power steering pulley on the damper.
3. Fan
4. Alternator pulley. I have seen red and black.
5. Oil dipstick handle

I'm interested in any information about engine decals and factory inspection marks. You can find restoration information on V8:s easily, but I'm sure that many have restored /6 also.

Thanks for help.

I’m also going through the paint color dilemma for a 68 block, 77 head in a 67 body. I found a page on Allpar that may help with colors used on accessories attached to engine.

Hi.

To be exact, my block is also 68, but the important thing is, that the engine looks like 67.

Sadly most of the pics are B&W, but it looks like all fans and brackets are gloss black.

67Dart,

Black yes, gloss no. I have been using Dupli-Color Engine Enamel; Ford Semi-gloss black # DE1635 for brackets, fan, and other items just because it is easily obtainable at any auto parts store around here.

Bill
