Was under the hood of my '64 Valiant yesterday, and noticed that the carb was loose on the intake.

So, I tightened it up... and also noticed that it is held-on by bolts instead of studs and nuts...

Most other carbs I've worked-on have the carb mounted with studs & nuts...

Did Chrysler start bolting carbs down in the '60s, or am I confronting an "upgrade" by a previous owner ? :?:

Thanks...

I've seen 'em both ways. Sounds like your particular application...

...wants studs with good nuts!

My '66 had bolts in it as did most of the older motors I have taken apart.

Late '60's on up have always had studs.

According to the engine #, my slant is from a '66...

I think I will be changing-over to studs...
