Gents,
I have been working on a 82 D150. The lean burn system is gone and
a new electronic ignition is in its place. As I have been following your
advice as a group on this restore, I pulled the carb off ( two barrel
Carter BBD) to rebuild since it was leaking like a bear. It has a rebuilt
sticker on it now. My question is are there any things I have to look for
in the body to determine if the carb is still worth re-rebuilding properly?
I was very happy to learn that it had a Carter BBD after reading all
the bad stuff about the Holley 1 and 2 barrels. ( Though I think the
Holley 2 barrel might have been ok too. Just not as good as the Carter
from what you guys have written)

Thanks in advance.
Chuck

Examine the carb with extreme prejudice. Often the damage done during a factory "remanufacturing" is not practically reversible.
