I am nearing replacement time for my KH Disc brake pads, does anyone have a particular favorite when it comes to max stopping power? (I haven't been overwhelmed with their current performance.) Thanks - Mike

hi michael,
i've never run the k-h setup, but i know firm feel offers carbon-metallic pads for them. you may want to call dick ross and ask him some questions directly. i also have a sneaking suspicion that the ssbc setup uses similar pads that may be another option.

Many of the pad compounds sold today for this setup are way too hard; I've learnt to avoid the "lifetime" pads. I've had best results with genuine Chrysler pads, but these have been N/A for quite awhile and NOS examples are getting tougher to find. There are various performance-type pads out there; I haven't experimented with them in this system. The same pad is used in '64-'68 (maybe '69) Mustangs.

I believe Wilwood makes a few compounds for that caliper (same as Mustang, as Dan said). I have not tried them, but I hope to get some softer compound pads on my next set since the semi-metallics I have a bit hard.

Thanks for the leads! I'll do some leg work and post my unscientific results here.
