Does any one out their have any idea's on where to find a new or after market head liner for my 1976 Duster. My card board is not in very good shape and all the other ones at the junk yards are worse than mine. Just had the whole car repainted and than the head liner looks like XXXX

Thanks

That's the sad part about the cardboard liner, they just don't hold up after 25 years. I was in the same dilemma with my duster, luckily I found one that I could vinyl paint to match my interior.
Your best sources for a fabric liner are Year One, Paddock, Auto Shows, a custom sewn job from your local conv. top/ upholstery specialist, or the junkyard. No one makes the cardboard liners that I've found. Your best bet is to find a 73+ duster, pull the headliner bows and clips, note how many bows there are (you'll need to know that when ordering the headliner, 4 or 6 bows...)

hope that helps,

I found another cardboard head liner that was in good shape. I removed/stripped all the painted material from the base cardboard. I than gave this to a friend (who does this for aliving)he used a 1/8 foam backing with cloth and glued it all together. I was impressed,it looked better than new.

That's what it's all about, making it better then new, all by yourself, (and some help form your friends) and doing it for no - low bucks.
