Did anyone watch the auction with the NIB slant 6 model? Went for a whopping $316.99! Sure could buy a lot of parts for a REAL slant 6 for that much.

I saw it- I've seen others go for less, even for complete sets. That one did look particularly mint, though. The bottom falls out of the price if the kit is partially assembled, the box is worn or damaged, or has a few parts missing.

I think that I have seen a Slant model like this listed on E-bay once before. Was this a large scale model, like 1/8 or 1/12?

btw, I've done quite a bit of fine detail automobile modeling in the past. Ross Gibson engines has a 1/24 - 1/25 scale Slant 6 model.

Check out these sites. If a model of your Valiant is available, these are places to start.

http://www.modelcarkits.com/

http://www.modelexpress.net/

What you'll find, though, is that most model companies make models of the "popular" cars...Chargers, GTXs, 'Cudas, etc. And they ALWAYS have the Hemis or the Six Packs in them.

Search the net for "resin cast model". There are some guys out there that make resin cast model car bodies of more obscure cars. You use these bodies with the chassis, wheels, motor, etc. from a common kit. Throw in a Gibson Engines Slant 6 and you could have a nice replica of the ride sitting on your garage.

Me?? I've graduated from plastic models to the real thing. Although, I did find a site that had a resin cast '60 Dart HT that caught my attention. Thought about it once...then twice...but decided I better get the one in the garage built first.
