I had a Hot Rod from the early '60's that had an article which showed you how to install a small block Chevy into '60-'62 Valiant's (I think it featured a Lancer in the article). I think the logic was the Chevy would fit, while the Chrysler 318 wide block used at the time (273 wasn't out yet) wouldn't. Like it or not, its just hot rodding.

I'll bet it wouldn't be too hard to strip out te Ford motor and tranny and swap in a slant or even a smallblock. you could offset the cost by selling the Ford stuff to a Mustang owner.

That's just wrong! I like seeing /6's in other vehicles though so maybe I have a double standard. My Uncle had a '63 Divco milk truck that had a Ford engine in it. The original Hercules engine must have been pulled at some point.

I think it's kinda cool. Wanna bet they do a little street racing with it?

Why, they said, "... never raced or timed ..."! Surely they wouldn't lie about a thing like that.

At least it's not another 350.

I dislike Fords but I put a Buick 3.8L in a 83' Nissan pickup. To each their own.

I wouldn't mind having that 302 to go in my 85 Silverado.

At least then it will have an engine that is worth a crap, unlike the 305 it has now.
