Hi Folks,

Need to get a new Master Cyl. tomorrow for my sons 72 dart swinger. Manual drum brakes all the way around. I can get the original cast iron one right away. But is there one of the aluminum ones that would be a direct replacement? What year car would I ask for? Thanks for all the expert help.

Rick

Rick,

I don't think there's a direct aluminum bolt-up MC. You'd need the late-model truck 2-bolt MC adapter to old 4-bolt MC pattern, and a different pushrod.

: Try this site this is what I am going to do instead of the $90 worth of new MP pushrod and adapter.

I have already purchased a 1985 Chrysler 5th Avenue master cylinder from Autozone for $45. It is still cast iron but it's the plastic reservoir type. I can't see spending another $60 for aluminum just to save a couple pounds.
