If I bore the 225 .080 - .100 over what head gasket options do I have?

Felpro composite gasket is 3.50 bore, so will work up to 0.100" overbore.

There is also an Aussie "permaseal" head gasket with 3.66" bore, which can handle anything. Hard to get here, though. I did a group buy a while back, but am burned out at the moment.

When you say they can handle anything, what do you mean? Anysize bore and or any compression ratio. I plan to run some nitrous on this motor.

Yes, but not readily. Need to find some NOS still on the shelf, somewhere. Some of us have a small stash. I have sold some of mine from time to time, but don't want to sell any more right now. Not many left, and might need them.

Call Bill Hupke at 'The chicago Connection' in Chicago. He bought the last batch that were in the sales system, and may have some left. 773/229-0655.

Is one head gasket just as good as another when it comes to sealing? Whats the difference between the permaseal, steel shim type and the Felpro gaskets?

the steel shim gaskets are about .020 thinner and therefore yield a higher comression ration.

Does one tend to be stronger or last longer than the others? If that happens to be the factory steel shim then I'd be interested in one!

If you run the steel shim gasket, make sure the head and deck surface is dead flat. They are not very forgiving about warpage. That is one reason why the after market gaskets are thicker. Thay are more forgiving about a slight amount of warp.

Very true, it also helps to get some of the spray Mopar uses on the Neon heads for the steel shims gaskets, but a fresh deck & head surface is a must.
