In my 64 I have the floor mounted rod type pedal. I would like to go to a cable setup that still bolts to floor in the same spot. (new carpet with a hole in it) I know the V8 pedals for valiants will work but those are few and far between. do fury's, coronets, belvaderes ect. have pedals that will work. since more of those cars came with V8's? I have firewall hung pedals but I'd like to keep it stock looking.
thanks

i kept the stock pedal on my '63 when i swapped over to a cable setup. first, i removed the stock throttle linkage and pedal. then found a volare gas pedal and cable in a wrecking yard, removed the plastic pedal pad from the lever and then mounted it to the firewall in a spot near the location of the old pedal. then it was a matter of bolting the old pedal back in place and resting it on the new gas pedal lever. worked ok. could be improved on by making a more positive attachment between the two parts. every once in a while the pedal would slip off the lever. looked stock from the interior side though.
