Can some post a picture of a single barrel carb or instructions I am installing a Holley on a 73 slant six, but the carb that is on there is off a Ford so I am not sure where the hose, gas etc, hook -up. Thanks Jim Also what type of material do you recommend for the gasket between the carb and the manifold?

There are several different Holley carburetors that can be installed, each with different things you have to watch for when installing -- which exact one are you working with?

I am going with a 75-76 holley # R-7611 and I am installing it on a 73 slant six from a Dart.

OK, for that carburetor you'll need a '73+ type carburetor base gasket, which is a 5/16"-thick heat-insulating item. Fel-Pro #60274 or NAPA G25456. You'll also need a '74+ type automatic choke thermostat, NAPA Echlin 2-325 and choke modulator 2-1695. OR, you can get the (better, more adjustable, easier to install, less costly) full-electric choke package for around $40 as described here or from NAPA under Echlin P/N 2-1627.

You'll need to decide whether you want the thermostatic air cleaner function. This really helps with cold-engine driveability and fuel economy, and your '75-'76 carburetor has the vacuum provision to operate it. You'll need a '70+ slant-6 1bbl air cleaner assembly, the sheetmetal "stove" and bracket that bolt to the manifold, and the flex duct that runs from the stove up to the air cleaner snorkel.

Your late-model carburetor will have some fittings you don't need in your application. I'm betting you're not running EGR in your truck even though the engine is a '73 (right?), so the venturi vacuum tap on the carb will need capping off. Likewise, there's no cannister to purge on your truck, so the bowl vent tube should be left open to atmosphere and the cannister purge tube capped off.

Given all that, the stock '73 throttle and auto-trans kickdown linkage will all bolt up and work fine.

If the carb is a brand new one like the ones I'm almost sold out of (heh), it may come with a diagram. Otherwise, you'll need to refer to the Factory Service Manual for the applicable year of the carburetor or you can post a few different-angle photos of the carb and someone here will probably help you ID the various connections.
