Is the pitman arm the same for a 67 manual box and a 74 power steering or manual box?

I went on www.rockauto.com for you and looked up '67 Barracuda and '74 Dart. The pitman arm for your '67 is Moog 7074, and the part number for the '74 Dart is Moog 7076. I couldn't find any reference as to whether either was for power or manual steering. Rock auto is a good place to go to look up part numbers and do a little cross-referencing.

According to RockAuto 67 thru 72 uses the same part number for the pitman arm. I believe it was 73 when they went to the larger splines in the steering box, thus thr 73-76 pitman arm would be different. FYI, thr 67 idler arm is a one year only deal. Interchanges on that are 63-66, 67, 68-72, and 73-76

I am changing the K-member in from the 74 dart for a few reasons. Motor mounts are the spool type. The ider arm is good and it not the rare $150 one. I will be using my manual steering box and hopfully its pitman arm will not change steering geomatry. They look the same, but that just looking under and than walking over to the other one and compairing what I remember seeing. Id like to use the pitman arm of the 74 power steering box because its new. Mine has a little play.

Does anyone know for sure if the steering box splines are really different. My pitman arm (Manual) has the castle nut facing up and the 74 system (power) has the castle nut facing down. The centerlink won't work that way and I can't use the 67 centerlink because the idle arms castle faces down also.
Any ideas besides getting a later manual box?
Are the splines "keyed" for oneway installation?

AFAIK, the power box splines changed in '73, the manual box stayed the same. I am sure that '67-'72 power and manual pitman arms were the same.
New '73 manual pitman arms should be available.

That is not correct. 1967 A-bodies use 1967-only pitman and idler arms. '68-'72 are the same, and '62-'66 are the same, and '73-'76 are the same, but '67 is one-year-only on these two arms.

Nope, the pitman shaft is of larger diameter on the '73-up steering boxes.

You should be able to mount a '62-'72 steering box on a '73-'76 K-frame, thereby keeping the early small-diameter pitman shaft.

there's 2 type of pitmans, large sector and small sector units. All the early manual steering boxes had the small sector pitman arm. Early and late power steering boxes have the large sector pitman arm wich would be interchangeable with the large sector manual steering box. Got this reference from big block dart. They have pictures on the site that would help you out to identify your steering box

I under stand the sector differences. My problem is ball joint direction. Shown below is two power steering pumps and one orignal manual box. I am trying to stay with manual steering. I changed out the K-member from a 74 Dart and all its steering stuff except for the power steering box. (which is shown on the right with castle nut down and large sector. This pitman arm is what is need except in the small sector. The box on the left has the right sector but the wrong ball joint. The other picture is my orignal manual box, which now has the ball joint in the wrong direction because I am using the 74 Dart stuff and is idler arm. I can not use the 67 center link as it would be the same problem but with the idler arm joint in stead of pitman arm issues.
Is there an idler arm the has the small sector and the ball joint facing down?

Use the '67 center link and use a 68-72 idler arm.

True, but we are talking about manual boxes here, not the power variety. Manual A-body steering boxes all had the small sector shaft.
You having trouble finding a '74 manual pitman arm? It should be what you're after.
