 Post subject: Carb heat

Need help cold running slant!
64 Dart Clifford Hyper pac manifold.
edelbrock 500 carb. no manifold heat.
Have zero clearance to hood need some kind of manifold heat?
Any Ideas?

Just a thought, don't know if this helps, the older Chevy Blazers with carbs used a thin plastic "electric blanket" type gasket under their carb.

The two options I have used on warming the H. Pak are:

1) Water Heat by means of a "Heater Core" strapped to the bottom of the manifold. (a small trans cooler also works, plumb water through it)

2) Route an exhaust pipe / header tube (or two) directly under the floor of the manifold.

Both systems are not as "fast" with manifold warm-up as the factory's 1 & 2 bbl set-ups but it is better then nothing at all.
