I installed my caliper on the spindle but the bolt that I was given bottom out and I have a about a 1/4 inch of bolt left, not tight. I that space normal so the caliper can move

You know I recall running into the same issue with my KH upgrade - I was about to put a washer under the bolt - but then I realized there was a bracket that I forgot to put under the bolt (for the line) and once I pulled the bolt out, put the bracket in, and put the bolt back all was well.

The KH caliper body itself does not move since there are pistons on both sides.

does any one know were I can get these brackets

The KH calipers must be solidly attached to the spindle. My wife's '72 Duster had the same problem with the bolts bottoming out, but only on one side. I ended up with washers between the spindle and caliper to get the caliper centered over the rotor and stop the clunking that the caliper made when that wheel hit a bump.

Yep, I was afraid of this. RockAuto.com has a note that 'brackets not included' with the reman calipers. Since I don't have photos, this must be the missing part in question. Would anyone like to volunteer a picture of said bracket so that Mr. Dolan and I can either start lookin' or start fabbin'?

Yup thats the bracket I meant, spaces the bolts out and braces the lines. When I was putting mine together the thickness of the bracket was enough of a difference between success and not. That was with all original hardware as well.

Thanks for taking and sharing the photo, David. I think I could fab something vaguely similar to hold the brake hose, but if anyone has a pair of these, I'm interested. At least the shipping will be cheap...

I have two choices of hoses on listed on RockAuto.com for my 68 Signet. Should I order p/n 36609 or 36611? Despite the bracket photo, I can't make out which hose is shown there.

Rockautos descriptions show 36609 for 9" brakes, and 36611 for 10" and 11". 9" and 10" are drums, 11" are the KH discs, so 36611 is what your looking for I'd imagine.

I took the bearings out of the spindles I found on line and cross referenced the bearing numbers. They match the A2 and A6 sets according to the Timken website..which matches the 10/11" brakes. Those bearings are shot!

Now I just have to fab those caliper brackets to mount the hoses...

Should I spring for the power brake booster, or will a manual master cylinder be enough with the KH discs?

It depends on what you like in brakes. I hate the feel of power brakes. I have a 1 1/32" manual mc with KH brakes on my 71 duster and like it. With your car, which I believe is lighter, I would say stay manual. Start with manual, and add the booster if you want.
