I am going to take the jets on too. But it is running Much better so I am taking a break. Also sinse I now know it actually runs, I am thinking 2 brl. So gonna just sit on this for a bit and figure what todo next. If I am going to bother with the carb at all, might as well just do 2 brl. Just need to find the manifold and a carb.

Thanks!
Craig

WOW, 4x4 slant! Don't see many of those around!

I've only speculated about such an animal. What kind of transmission would it have?

My friends dad has a 1976 w-100 with a slant and a 4-speed.
This is the only one that I have ever seen it is short wheel base, plane jane truck.
The gentleman is retired for many years (about 80 years old) and the truck just sets in the garage and only driven about 100 to 200 miles a year put on it.
The last time I seen the truck it only had about 40,000 miles on it a few years ago and is in perfect condition. I swear it even smells new.
As for gear ratio I think it is 3.55.

Shawn

I'd ALMOST be willing to sell the goat to buy one of those. I don't really have a need for a 4x4.

I called my friend today to wish him happy holidays and he says that his dad still has the truck.

It is sitting in a heated garage (all of its life) but it is not for sale.

His dad is getting up there in age and actually left the family car running in the garage. Thank God it was a detached garage.

He said that his dad has managed to bang about every corner of the truck this year, but it still has low miles and is rust free.

I have first bid on the truck if it ever comes up for sale.

I think I can get it at resonable price because my friend is a chevy freak.

  He must be related to the little old lady I bought my Lancer from in Chatanooga. I still don't have the dings straightened out.

From your previous description I'd guess you have a New Process NP 425 Tranny (the NP435 was geared better for the road). I have one in my 65 Sweptline. Makes a great trainer for anyone interested in driving a commercial moving truck for a living. I think I use first gear maybe twice a year

Sounds like a great truck though.
