Picked up my trans. today from KlemRacingTransmissions in Maryland. Boy,I really have a case of "Gotta finish the Dart" now. My question is, How strong is the ball and trunion joint at the front of the drive shaft. Will this stand up to some hard launching without any worries? This is pretty much a budget build-up.Some of you might remember my post on ingredients suggestions a while back.

Hey! I bought a small block 727 transmission for my 68 340 valiant from klem racing. I haven't put it in yet, but looks good. Tell us your expierence with Klem as i bought my trans from him off of eBay. The drive shaft should stand up to it, remember they used them behind the first racing Hemi's!

I agree with Larry, as long as the B&T is in good working order, it will be fine. Pull back the sheetmetal cover on the front of the housing unit and be sure it is packed full of long fiber grease.

B&T u-joints last a long time if kept greased, ware on the housing or bad needle bearings will result in a shaking or vibration under load, like a hard launch from a standing start.

Geoff Klem Was very helpful. he went well out of his way to help me out.Even met half way so the drive was'nt as far.Heck of a nice guy. I'll let you all know how it works out when the car is finished. I disassembled the b&t and it looks good. it was well greased. will reassemble and install new u joint at rear and shaft will be ready. Thanks 63GT.
