I have a 2 barrel Holley, model R 7642 A. The second line says 2359. I've tried looking on-line to find out what the cfm is and if I can find out if it works on a slant six. Can anyone help me out?

R7642A is a Holley 2245, Economaster fuel economy type, for 1971 Chrysler products with 360 and 383 engines. It's bigger than the 2280s that were available for the 225 and 318.

Kevin.....That 2359 number shows up (in my old oem manual) as a Holley model 1904 or 1960, (probably a 1904), that would have been installed on a '61-'62 Ford or Merc 223 inch engine. (Sorry, my book doesn't list CFM's, and it's old enough that it stops at list number 7501.)
Would it work?.....Probably, but the age and probable wear that it has would make it marginal considering the effort you'll have to put forth to get the linkage(s) to match up. Kits are getting a bit hard to come by, too.

Hmmmm.....Looks like Dan has a newer book.

That 2359 number
...is not the relevant carb ID number.

Thanks for the info, SSD. From what I've read about the 2245 (which is very limited), it doesn't sound like a good choice for a mild build-up.
