If (if) we can order custom grinds, I have some very interesting dual pattern cam that I'd like to share to hear from doc and the other gurus here.

well I have NO idea about custom grinds. Doc, aren't you doing custom stuff with your local cam guy already? Is there a reason we'd want to to have Erson do it instead? Lower tooling cost? I'm all for a custom grind that might be better, but was just looking at the diminishing list of stock cams in the not too extreme grind list. I would love to have a dual pattern that's similar to the Erson 280..

I'm interested in one, now that I am showing my dart some love again. Probably just the 254 unless I know that the 270 will work fine with the factory auto tranny and rear end in my dart. I'd like more power but dont want to lose driveability in traffic with the factory trans and rear end. I know they say works with stock stall convertor but has anyone used this cam with stock trans. How would the 270 be just driving around town?

cheers
ricki

Ricki, I don't have the 270 in, but I think it will provide more fun for your car vs. the 254. If I recall, you have a 2x1 offy in the vert right? Its up to you of course, it won't be like a purely stock cam, but it will be a lot more fun =)

Geez, twist my arm... arrgghhhhhhh Ok put me down for a 270
Might as well get more smiles per mile. Yes its got the 2x1 setup. Dutra dual and a larger custom exhaust. The cam is the next logical step...

At least one 270, probably one 254 as well. I would be interested in the specs for dual-pattern 270's. Thanks.

I am interested in a 254. If it can be adjusted to a dual pattern, I am all the more interested. I am looking at a turbo engine, and would like to adjust the exhaust timing for more duration.

Thanks,

Greg

Put me down for a 270.
I trust that the cams will have the correct oiling holes in the rear journal.

Thanks for sharing the information and please put me down for a 270 for a solid lifter block.

I have regretted not getting a 270 ever since last summer's rebuild. At that time I didn't know a 270 would work fine on the street with a manual tranny (833OD). I stopped at a 244...and got a blankety blank hydraulic cam by shipper error. Runs great but I think I recall a discussion on the forum that the 270 will do just fine and I have been lusting after one ever since!. (Dutra duals, offy intake, now running a 500 cfm 4bbl).

don't worry man, I ordered 2 270º when they was avalible thru summit, one I haven't installed yet, the other went into a 904 trans car with stock converter and 3.07:1 rear end ratio car and is whopping azz! :D you'll like it, especially with the 2x1bbl setup. That 270 is gonna wake your car up.

Ok guys, I have about 15 people interested, so I will contact them again on Tuesday and see what I can find out. I'll post back. Here's the list:

Erson 254: gmader, curmudgeon
Erson 270: RoadRunner, Rust Collector, ricki, curmudgeon, rock, gts225
Erson 280: MJ, Argentina, 66acuda, mrbillhonooo,
Erson 284: slantzilla, charlie*, 66acuda, doc*

I have no idea on custom grinds or such, but I will ask and see what can be found out. That always gets more tricky, especially since they are not local to me, so we'll see what shakes out.

My interest is depending on the price, and again, depending on the price I may take one 280 and one 284 or 2 284's

Of course, we'll shake out a more specific price, but at even $130, its cheaper than anything else I'm aware of with the same specs. But I'm hopeful with a list like this it will be less. I was upset when they disappeared from summit and I had put off buying them, and figured there were enough of us wanting something like their 270 or 280 that we might be able to arrange good pricing.
