Doug and I have finally received confirmation from both Redding raceway and Medford, Oregon (Champion raceway) for expansion of our slant6 racing series for 2007. Last year in May, our race at Redding was on Mothers Day. We lost a few cars to that date so asked that it not be on Mothers Day...therefore NO EXCUSES not to be there this year. The date for the Redding one-day meet will be May 5th...(Saturday). Those of your that want to come up on Friday afternoon and setup or "camp out" will be allowed into the pit area on Friday afternoon (NO CHARGE FOR OVERNIGHTERS). Gates will open early and we will be able to get as many time trials in before we start our own slant6 eliminations and finish up on Saturday.

JUNE 2-3 (SAT/SUNDAY) at Champion Raceway , Medford, Oregon. The track manager called us and had heard about all the interest in Slant6 racing at Redding. This is one of the few 2-day races that will be held at Medford and this event is call their "Hot Rod Drags"...lots of early pre-72' cars with old Gassers, altereds, Willys, ect. They have offered our group our own lanes and pit area as well as 3-4 timed runs on Saturday and then we will as a slant6 group, run our elimnation brackets on Saturday. Saturday night the organizers offer a great FREE...FREE..FREE...BBQ with chicken, potatoe salad, beans, burgers..ect..ect. for all the racers. Overnighter welcome to stay right at the track. Then on Sunday, more time trials and then we will run with the Inliner group for another round of eliminations and for the $$$ which is put up by Champion raceway.

AUGUST 25-26..(Saturday, Sunday) REDDING RACEWAY. This is one of the few two-day races scheduled at Redding for 2007. We were very glad to "lock up" this date. Track open for overnighters/early birds on Friday afternoon. No cost for overnighters..Then on Saturday we get as many time runs as you want and then run our own show on Saturday. On Sunday, again time trials and eliminations mixing in the Inliner club. By running our own show at all three of these 2007, our West coast group will be able to post National points with the slant6 racing organization.

PS: Last year our team which is called 'The Killer Bees' won the team points championship. Mike Jeffrey is our team Captain and it couldn't have happened without all of you racers that took the time to come to Redding. Even though we don't have as many races available to us as they do in the Southern states, we do have a great group of dedicated West Coast slant 6 owners that take the time to show up at all the slant6 races here on the West Coast. Our Redding event has been featured in Mopar Collectors magazines and we continue to work on expanding our races and for this year. Along with Las Vegas on March 30-31-April lst, we will have two races at Redding and one additional at Medford. Our goal is to have a first ever, 5 round slant6 race ever West of the Mississippi. This will mean we need 17 cars...last year at Redding we had 15 cars...We continue to "prod" and "coach" and encourage all those that have partially completed slant6 projects to show up at Redding. We don't need a full field of race cars..just show up with any slant6 car as the format makes it just a even for a stock slant6 car as it does for the faster cars. We are getting the wives and girlfriends envolved ..all are welcome. Now you have the dates so please mark your calendars early. Again..WE NEED 17+ SLANT6 CARS to show up. If your car isn't ready, see if you can borrow anothers slant6 "ride" and show support for our mutual interest and presevation of the slant6 events. Rick Valent has commited to coming to these events all the way from Arizona. Get off your *** and show up and support slant6 racing...Enough rambles from cold Chico, Swingin' Six Wayne

Cool Wayne!
I just told the kids about the Redding races and they want in!
Gonna mark the calender and hope we can swing it.

I'm still messing with the dang carb, but getting closer to a solution - I THINK?

I finally found an actual throttle cable and I'm working on finding a way to install it..
If I got lucky, finding a torque converter would be a huge plus too!

Looking forward to seeing ya'll again,
Dan

Hi Paul and Dan: Without the continual support of you guys and many others who always take the time to make our slant6 events, we could'nt continue to grow as a group. There are so many out there that just can't seem to get their "projects" finished.. As you know, we don't need just race cars..we need just any slant6 cars. We have asked that even if the "project" car is not completed, just "beg" or "borrow" someones slant6 car and show up at Redding. Mopar Collectors Magazine will continue to follow our Redding races . Seymour told me that there has never been a full 5 bracket, 17 car field EVER IN CALIFORINA.. or for that matter West of the Mississippi. We are trying our best to do our part to let all know about the races..Now we need some of the "bence racers" to get off their *** and show up with some type of slant6 car. We are finally getting some "gals" involved and they are "beating" up on some of the long time racers. Thanks again to both of you for your continued support of our mutual sport. Now we just need to get some of those from Central and Northern Calif. and Southern and Central Oregon to finally join us and make the May 5th event the biggest slant6 event evet..Thanks guys and see you at Redding on May 5th. Wayne from Chico

Has anyone talked to Michelle at D&M Promotions about a Slant race at the So-Cal Mopar Shootout, (321) 243-5231, e-mail: show@moparshootout.com, Memorial Day weekend, May 26 & 27, at Auto Club Dragway at the California Speedway in Fontana? These are the same people who put on the Lonestar Shootout in Houston.

What would it take to get it done at Fontana? Money, payout, amount of cars? Can't wait much longer to get this on their schedule.

May 5th at Redding will have $$ payout for our slant6 group. Thanks to the generous contribution of Ron Parker and others, we will have $$$ for at least the first four place cars. If we get any further donations between now and May, we will also have cash payout for the first 8 cars. Again, 17++ slant6 cars is our "goal" for our May 5th meet. See you guys at Redding on May 5th..Wayne in Chico
