I recently scored a Super six setup from a salvage yard. I got the intake exhaust and related linkages no carb, no air cleaner for $90.00......good deal?
The other intakes that I've seen have 1 threaded hole for a manifold vacuum switch, this one has 2, any problem?

Can these be plugged?

What gets done with the emission goodies...EGR, manifold switches etc?

Since I don't have a carb is there a specific application that lends it self better than others, perhaps something that will eliminate all the emissions stuff?

Is there any kind of EGR block off available?

The manifold vacuum ports can be plugged unless you are going to use a power brake booster. As far as the EGR block off plate goes, you can make you own very easily. You just need a small peice of sheet metal, a drill and some high temp sealer and you good to go. Look for a used Carter 2 BBl carb in your local yard, they are very easy to rebuilt.

I'd say you did just fine!

On mine, I tapped the hole that leads out to the EGR ports:
(if you look close, you'll see the threads)



and then threaded a pipe plug in- (to prevent fuel from pooling) with the threads coated in Hi-Heat epoxy:



and cut a steel plate to shunt off the open ports:



As for the carb, as Brian suggested-
Carter BBD's are usually easy to come by...

Great info guys, especially the pipe plug. Definately going that route. But as far as the carbs go, I thought the v-8 versions needed significant mods for the kickdown, and isn't all the factory super six stuff steeped with emission lines?

If you were buying a reman unit what would the best application be?

Do the reman units come with that long shaft off of the side to hook to the kickdown?

Is there any reason an aftermarket 2bbl air cleaner wouldn't work?

I guess I'm trying to integrate the 2 bbl but keep the 1969 simplicity.

No, the throttle levers are the same. It's the choke hookup that's different between the \6 and V8 carbs.

N/A, remanufactured carburetors are trash. See this thread.
None, but the factory unit, with its thermostatic capabilities, is the best pick if you have the space available for it.
If you can stretch your mind to accept 1970 levels of simplicity, 1970 was the first year for the thermostatic air cleaner, which really helps out both cold and hot driveability, performance and economy.
