Can anyone clue me in to a good machine shop in central or east central Florida? The machine shop I was going to use has apparently gone out of business.

I know a great one in Lakeland. Its half way between Orlando and Tampa. Well great I don't know yet. He is building my engine now and he seems very knowledgable. I've hungout at the shop on Monday mornings and it is very common to have customers coming in that have just won some race that weekend. Sometimes they even lap the field.
Now I am no expert high preformance engine builder but I can see BS when its present. I don't see any BS here.

The first two I used over the years were good, unfortunatly, both got job offers from the Nascar shops and left, one to Penske, the other to Petty. This has been a bit of a problem around here, Nascar shops getting a lot of good local talent.

The third one I used was a known Mopar drag racer that held several records. Not to get into details, I'm not using him anyone.

The one I will try next is a new shop, 'Heatbeat Racing', owned by Dave Hartman. It's in the Eustis area. I know people that have used him when he worked at another shop that. I happen to be going by there this week to drop off some parts to get machined.

There may be a place closer to you. There are quite a few good shops around. It helps if you use one near you. If you are in the Melbourne area, look up Ben Donhoff. He has a shop but I'm not sure what the name of it is. Check the local Yellow Pages, pick a few out, then ask some of the local racers what they think.

Thanks for the tips. I'm in New Smyrna but I dont mind traveling if it means having work done by someone that know what he's doing.
