Hello Folks;

What years Did The 833 Come from the factory with the Small Splined output shaft (Like a 904 or light duty 3 Speed)?

So far I have seen 2 of them; one was an early model - probably 65 0r 66, and the other one is an all aluminum model, including the side cover everything is aluminum except the Bearing retainer.

The first correct answer gets to choose 833's for $400!

Thanks,

Greg

The aluminum one is prolly an OD from a pickup. The one in my '83 pickup had a small output. :lol:

Ron, I am not disputing your answer here, but I was under the impression that the 63 Boxes would still have the Flange for the ball and trunion Setup - Is that not The case???

Please educate and advise -

Thanks,

Greg

65 was the last year for ball and trunnion A833's, in A bodies. The longer A833's cropped the ball and trunnion a year earlier. As for what years had the small spline ouput, dunno.

I have heard from a couple of local 'old timers' that some very-early 1966 manufactured cars even got the last of the B&T A-833 trannies too...This is typical for mopar in many cases where "goofy things happen"(or aka. 'we found a palate in storage, here use these up!'), or like the 3 different rear seals for the A-230 that changed between early 1972-1976...some A-833OD's have been splined to use the A-904 style yoke, and some late A-230's were splined to use the 833/727 yoke...

it's enough to really muck up a day when pulling a tranny apart if you aren't paying attention... :roll:
