Yeah???? It's possible, I just don't tend to believe all the claims I hear(especially on the internet). It's not just what is costs, but you have to learn quite a bit to get that far as well. What is odd to me is that someone gets an engine to that level and then asks about street tires. Seems like they would be way past that. Who knows?

well, I would have to agree that you can very often tell who is full of it or not but it not a 100% accurate all the time. I know a good amount of engines but I know almost nothing about tires.
Starting a new thread about tires and rears and the track.

That's something....you really don't know what to believe anymore, do you? Trying to push the 1000 horse mark, huh? Yeah........
I'm not saying it's impossible, but you could have bought an all-aluminum blown, injected Hemi cheaper...... I'de like to see it run in person, then I'd believe it. That is one thing the other "Big 2" have on the slant....7 main caps.
All this endless talk about an aluminum head....maybe we should shift to producing a beefier block...

I have a 622" engine that is going in a 68 Valiant. The engine made 1273 h.p. at Schmidts in Indy without the two foggers. The old car it was in was a 10.5 car. It ran 10.5 Mickey Thompson w's. It would skate all the way down the track but what really blows my mind is people are doing it on drag radials. This is the car I will be working on when we get my sons car finished. We are running 325 50 15 on his Duster. We don't know how it will act with the turbo. We are running a loose converter and a trans brake so hopefully we can build some boost out of the hole.

To get 7 mains you must either lengthen the block or narrow the rod and main journals; neither of which is desirable. Much of the strength of the slant 6 block is the size of its bearing journals.
