I was told using a straight through exhaust on my truck will cause the valves to warp because they let cold air in after you shut the engine off. i want a straight through exhaust because the sound lifts me heart.

Never heard of that one. I have heard of it leaning out the mixture; leaner mixtures burn more slowly, and so the exhaust gasses are burning more intensely when they leave the cylinder. This in turn leads to hotter running exhaust valves (and exhaust manifolds). EFI cars should be able to handle this better, due to the O2 sensor adjusting the mixture; but carb'd cars lack that feature.

The only time I have seen valve warp was back in the late 60ths when a friend raced a brand new olds 442 at our drag strip and took off the exhust pipes at the ehaust manifold. He had to spring them down to clear the exaust manifold outlet. The car went slower and warped the exhust valves because of rapid cool down on the valve. Thanks Ron Parker :D
