We are at 9.6:1 and still 30 in the hole. I want to get the pistons up a bit more but I am limited to 93 pump gas. I have been told there is some 100 octane shell fuel around here but I have seen it and haven't looked. I think 9.8:1 is the highest you can go without detonating. I don't mind running the timing back some to get away with the higher compression on the street and bump it up with racing fuel at the track. I am worried about melting the manifolds retarding it to much.
What are your mearsured compression ratios and what octane fuel are you running? Do slant6's resist detonation more than other engines?
Your input is appreceated.
Brennan

Ok... I will say it.
The cam you have listed should support more then 9.6 compression.

Whats the max you would go on 93 octane with this setup?
Cam listed above.
3.59 bore
4.25 stroke
1.865In
1.5Ex
470cfm holley
Dutra/halfDual

I supose if I get it to high I could always put the stock stroke back in it. :x

I am thinking 10.4 is the number I going with. Hope it not to high for 93.
