Right now I have the super six setup on my 63 Dodge Dart. The head is in the machine shop to get the compression to 9.0. Now I am looking at it being a great time to add a cam. But we are worried about how much we can do, before it gets too hard on the tranny? I still want to get rid of the points. And that might be where I stop.

Don't worry about the transmission. A 904 can be built to handle anything a SL6 can dish-out.

Add electronic ignition and an Isky 264, comp 264 or Erson 270. Unless you have a 3 spd manual your trans should be fine.

I know you want to stop there but soon its time for a high stall convertor and a 4 barrel and headerz.......

If it helps ,,,,my Valaint is a 65 with 9,25 compression ratio,,,,comp 264 and a super 6 . The weak link is the 7.25 rear.....
