The automotive solution has the above as a starting point.

The variations are in the control, if auto already has DRL, if you're adding DRL, and if you want to turn DRL off............

What solution are you looking for?
Looking for an automotive (car/truck/van) solution assuming the vehicle has no original-equipment DRL.

Headlamp switch "off": DRLs are on.

Parking lamps on: DRLs are off, parkers + tails are on

Headlamp switch "on": Regular headlamps + tails, high or low beam per factory beam selector switch.

From previous post (with some minor changes)

3 relays

Relay 1 (high)
Relay 2 (low)
Relay 3 (DRL)

Relay 1 wiring:

30 positive source
87 high filament
87a not connected
86 existing high filament wire thru diode & DRL control wire thru diode (1 diode per wire)
85 ground

Relay 2 wiring:

30 low filament
87 positive source
87a ground
86 existing low filament wire
85 ground

Relay 3 wiring:

30 lamp ground only
87 not hooked up
87a ground
86 DRL control
85 ground

There needs to be one relay 3 per lamp. Relays 1 & 2 can handle both lamps.

Here's control circuit: (need 1 mini relay)

Sounds like probably what I'm looking for...any chance I could prevail on you for a complete circuit diagram? I don't need it for free, can work out a trade for bulbs or whatever...

I could come up with one. Any interest in solid-state control (a bit more complicated, but not much)?

I'll PM you when I come up with it (and for any deal making)

Sure, I'd love to hear about your solid state idea, too. Thanks!
