Our May 5th race is filling up nicely but we still need JUST THREE (3) MORE SLANT6 CARS...to make our 17+ car count. It is just a one-day race on May 5th at Redding. Easy to get to...'cheap' to enter ($10.00 total) , great techincal advice via DD, great shaded parking under the Oak trees...Separate slant6 lanes...Would like to see if any of you "bench racers" could make it on May 5th. WE NEED THREE (3) NEW SLANT6 CARS...Please email me at waynee@dcsi.net or contact Doug with your plans.. Stock slant6 cars very welcome...Check you calendars and mark May 5th...thanks from all the "Killer Bee Racing Team"...Wayne

Hey guys and gals - if I can show up and "race" a VAN - I'm sure there are a few of you out there that can show up and race your slant!!

Come on - it's a nice time and a great place!

Later,
D

Hey Wayne, I talked to a guy in an office next door to where I work. I used to see him drive a 71 Duster on occasion. I asked him about it. It hasn't run for about a year. I told him I would get it running for him if he goes to the races on May 5th. Hopefully it is a fairly simple fix! Anyway, lots of time, so I guess you can count him in.

Later,
Randy

BTW, I will be making some posts for advice if the problem is beyond my limited expertise .

Hi Randy: Thanks for helping make the May 5th Redding slant6 event the biggest ever...I just had a email from a Valiant owner over on the coast. With this much of a "lead in" about the event, he will be at Redding. He has one of the cleanest, well prepared 64' 2 door post Valiant you have even seen. Can't wait to see it in person. Also heard from "Richard-The Sand- Bagger " from Eugene. Glen Terry lost to Richard in the finals at Woodburn last year and Glenn when another shot at Richard. Both are scheduled to be at Redding. With the continued support of you and many other slant6 "die hards" we will make May 5th the biggest ever. Now we just need to get some cars out of the Sacramento, S.F. and Central Calif. areas to show up. I see on the membership list almost 50 cars from this area. Other than Doug and Oscar, we have not been able to get any "support" from these areas. Come on guys...mark May 5th on your calendars . Doug, Glen, Randy, Paul, myself will always be available to help with directions, track procedures, testntune advice. Redding has a great website (www.reddingraceway.com). Maybe with our 'continual' bantering, we can get 3 additional new cars out there from these areas. Can't wait to see how you car "launchs" with the new convertor...Any chance you will have the four-barrel on for May? Thanks Randy for your support..Wayne in wet Chico

I plan on having the 4 bbl and duals on by then. Doug is in the process of getting the front half of the duals to me, and I have a manifold for the back half, a friend of mine is going to modify for me. I don't have the carb yet. I am considering the Las Vegas race, but I have some other issues I need to deal with before I can take the car on a 1200 mile road trip.

Hi Randy. If you have any trouble getting the rear half of exhaust done, I can make you a super deal on the one I took off my car last night. I'm going with Offy, Holley 390 and a REAL exhaust system. (Those who saw my car at Redding know what I mean :!: ) PM or call 541-543-1814

Paul

Thanks Paul! I'll keep it in mind if things don't go as planned here.

Hi Andrew: I am sure all on the website would enjoy seeing what you have done with your 63' Valiant. Did you ever sell your 64' GT car? If not, why not list it under the "Cars For Sale" section of the website. I am sure someone will take you up and buy it as you are asking a very reasonable price for it. Thanks for coming to our May 5th event at Redding. Now we just need a couple more new cars to make this the biggest slant6 event West of the Mississippi...Thanks for your support. Let us know when the photos are up and running..later, Wayne

Just sold my 2barrel manifold to a guy in Medford who is building a turbo 170. He says he will bring it to Redding. This is looking like a major event. Let's keep talking it up!

Hey Wayne. Redding isn't very far for me. My dart sure ain't no racecar but I would like to come to the races if for nothing else, just to see what slants can really do.
What time do the festivities start.
