Would that be an A904 w/2.45 first, and lockup convertor? For a 2wd truck that is. I found through an earlier post that A998/9 were never placed behind /6's, so I'm wondering if it's wide ratio (2.74? found two different references) or not.

Yep, it'll almost certainly be the wide-ratio A904 with 2.74 first and 1.54 second gear ratios. Lockup: Yes or no depending on how that particular truck was equipped.
