We are excited that Clifford 6-8 has offered to be a major sponsor of Slant Six Racing here on the West Coast. Larry and his staff at Clifford 6-8 have been most accommodating with their generous donation for all four of our West Coast Slant Six races (2@ Redding and (2) @ Medford). Give Larry at call or email him and thank him for his support. Clifford will be offering a Header/Intake/Carb. Adapter Special for to all on our website. Give Larry a call and talk slant6 talk and thank him for his support. www.cliffordperformance.net or toll free (888)471-1161

H'mmm. Sponsorship $$ is always nice, of course, but it's always a nicer deal for the sponsor than for those who are sponsored, otherwise the sponsors wouldn't do it. Are Clifford really trying to attone for their shady business practices and poor service? Have they really, actually turned over a new leaf? Or are they just trying to make themselves look good? Time will tell.

This year at Las Vegas, no sponsor "stepped up to the plate" so MATS paid the prize money. We have several other "outside" sponsors (including myself, my brother, members of our the Killer Bee raceing team, and money from others from from competing teams..thanks Ron). Ask any of us what what a "nice deal" we have received from our sponsorship. What we all have in common is our mutual interest in slant6 racing and any sposorship is greatly appreciated. So few have taken advantage of the "nice deal" for sponsoring slant6 racing, we thank Clifford and all other sponsors for their financial help. 100% goes to the racers which helps defer their cost to compete which continues to increase. All of the three National teams will surely look forward to any sponsorship from your area also. Swingin' Six from Chico

Sponsorship, is getting harder and harder to get (ask me how I know). It is even harder to get help, when you are talking about a small group like slant sixers. Any help from anyone should be appreciated.

Thanks Charlie...Any ideas when or where we could get a combined West/East/ South meet in 2008?

I honestly think it would be tough to do. Most Slanters are on a limited budget, and/or have full time jobs. A race like that would require a major distance for almost everyone. I had to cut down on my traveling the last couple of years, do to the expense. Where I live, the closest slant race is 170 miles away, at Valdosta Ga. Every other race is at least 500 miles each way. When you figure gas, tolls, entry, food, lodging, etc. it costs about $1,000 per race. If I take the RV, I eliminate the lodging, but pay the fuel milage penalty (6.5 mpg). If I take my pick up, I have the better milage (about 18 ) but then have lodging, so that is about equal. Then many have to figure losing work time. But if you can figure out how to pull it off, it would be KOOL.

I'm thinking virtual racing. Put it up on the jumbotron with split screen of one lane on each side. The ladder still tells us who races who, no matter of which track they are residing at.

Might not be as much fun as the real thing, but it's about the best you are gonna get.

I sure hope someone is getting video of these races. It's about time someone put together a movie that highlights the events for a whole year.

I can't look at videos. I'm on dial up, and it takes too long to download

Cheaper to get you them on a CD/DVD than to get you to the races you know? :D
