Ok as of right now, my 71 Duster has P195/75/R14 tires all the way around. Im looking into getting the BF Goodrich T/A Radials ( http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs/radial-t-a/12.html ) to give it a more classic look. None of the tire stores around here have these tires or can even get them before 6 weeks. So now im looking to buy online. The problem im running across is that the only size close to mine that they sell is P195/70/R14. Will the 70 on the new tire be that much smaller to the naked eye than the 75 I already have on? My wheels and tires look small enough as it is on my car and I don't want much smaller. If this is all I can get then I guess i'll have to sacrifice. I just want some expert opinions before I go ordering online and get something im not happy with. Now I know you can't tell me what I like and wont like, but im just wondering if there is even going to be much of a difference? Thanks.

Also, I dont know the exact width of my rim, but a couple of guys at a couple different tire places said I could get away with 205's on there, but they wouldnt go any bigger. Would that look better or would the extra bubble affect look a little weird?

I would try a 205-70-14 which is 8.07 wide and 25.29 diameter.
Your stock size 195-75-14 is 7.67 w/25.51 D
the tire you were considering the 195-70-14 is 7.67 W/ 24.74 D

If you have the 4½"-wide rim, 195s are too big and 205s are way too big (balloony, like clown-car tires, and reduced contact patch on the road).

If you have the 5½"-wide rim, 205s work great.

Are Radial T/A's being phased out? Does anyone know? I needed 2 for the front of one of my Darts and nobody around here had them or could get them. I had two different shops tell me they were going out of production. I ended up ordering a pair from TireRack.com

What's up with this?

Big O carries the Radials but they have the white outline instead of the all white lettering. America's Tire Co. carries them but they are on a 6 week back order. Also a buddy of mine works at Sears and he says they don't have them at the one hes at.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll check and see what the diameter is before ordering those tires.

Here in the NE, Wal-Mart had them for the best price and had them shipped to my nearest Wal-Mart Tire Center (for no extra charge)
I just last week picked up a set of BFG Radial T/A's 205/70R14's for $75 ea. (they were not in stock, but arrived within 4 days)
However, the "raised" RWL didn't seem as "raised" as the set I bought 7 yrs. ago though....

I beleive only some models are being discontiued. For instance the 215-60-15 is no longer avaliable. I litterly bought the last 2 in the country. Found one here in florida and the other one came about a 1000 miles. I had been looking for that size for months and finaly the last one came up during and inventory count.

If your buying 4 tires online you might check out the Fuzion HRI. They are just a marketing label Bridgestone/Firestone uses. I bought a set for a car I was selling and they really surprised me, especially for $50.00 each. I actually liked them well enough to buy a set of 215/60/15s for our Swinger. They work as well or better than any mid range performance / all season tire I have used and still ride nice and are not loud. Good in the rain too. I would put them up against a TA radial or eagle GT any day. Tire rack has them. Don't let the price scare you.
The 205/70/14 is a good normal size if your rims are right for them. That is what our Swinger had before we went to BBP 15s.

I don't like fixing lower 1/4ers. That is why you'll never see Firestone on my car again.

I have some Kelly Chargers on the rear. They were reccomended from a friend that sells Goodyear, and Kelly. On there for 2 years and I can't complain.

Did you really find them at Wal Mart? The BF Goodrich site lists Wal Mart as a dealer for the Radials, but I cant find them on the Wal Mart site. I also went in there today and the guy said they didnt have them. Although he was pretty much an idiot from what I could tell. Im finding that a lot of these guys dont know what they're talking about. The guy at Big O said they dont even make the Goodrich's with the solid white lettering anymore. Then the guy at another place just didnt believe me when I told him my bold pattern was 5x4.
