I will be there. There will be a "test and tune" on Friday. Sat there will be bracket racing, and the track will have a non points slant six race, with a $500 purse. Sunday will be the Slant Six Racing News points race. The track is putting up $500 of the purse. Additional purse money is coming from:
Tom Drake $100, Frank (66acuda) $100, Advance Auto Parts $50

Slant Cecil said, he will put in $100 if RP Racing will do the same.

I'd love to go, but I don't know if I can go yet. It was so hot up there last year. I would have stayed longer, but the heat was killing me. I probably would have put up with it if I was racing something, but I don't have anything to race anymore. Maybe next year.

Hey Ron, I'll match that.

Another $100 on the way Charrlie

Did I read correctly that the track is putting up $500 for the non points race on Saturday AND another $500 for the points race on Sunday? That's some pretty good support (either way)!

Got a commitment for another $100 from Seymour Equipment Inc. They do sales and rental of heavy equipment. They are located in Ocala Florida.

Total purse for Sunday is now $1,000.
8 days to go.

I stayed in my RV, all weekend, last year. As far as I know, no showers. Love those showers at Bristol.

I am planning on getting there early (8:00-9:00 am) on Friday. Will try to get a pit area reserved, about the same place as last year.

Hey guys.

It looks like Frank won't be able to make it for the race after all, so the blue Duster that ran 15.85 at this race last year is available if anyone wants to use it. The shop where it is stored (Stockbridge, GA) should have gone through it and gotten it ready to race for the most part. I can verify that today.

If anyone is interested just shoot me a PM.

Eliminations will start about 1:00 pm. Slant six will most likely be about 1 hour after that

Let's hope not. I know they canceled the Florida Folk Festival in White Springs due to fears of fire, and that's only an hour or so down the road from the track...

I'll be at the Slant 6 race this year for one day, since that's all the time I can spare, and I guess I'll choose Sunday instead of Saturday.

I just called Charlie, he's already at the track setting up, is gonna race his 66 Valiant this weekend. I'll be there with my 64, which now has about 7k miles on a fresh rebuild. I just changed the oil from dinosaur bones to Royal Purple synthetic, and the car feels pretty good. With a 170 at 9.5:1 compression, I'm expecting at least some of my 1/4 mile runs to dip below 20 seconds, woo hoo!

See you Sunday!

- Erik
