Hi, guys. Trying to remove alt. pulley for bearing replacement/general cleanup. Didn't want to come off, and didn't want to apply excessive force. Any suggestions? ('78 dual-field version)

You need to use a special puller/installer. Parts store might have it for rent/borrow. However I have found it is usually more cost effective to purchase a remanufactured unit, with a warrantee.

Well, I tried a standard gear puller, pulling on the groove on the outboard end of the pulley hub, without success. Also started using bearing splitter, pulling from behind the belt groove....started to bend from the backside.

I suppose it is/was one of those items that was supplied to Mopar by Fisher Tools, wasn't it?

A pulley remover and installer set sold by www.harborfreight.com looks like it might work but I've never tried it. Type in "pulley remover" in the keyword search box. If you get one let us know.
