Just curious what adjustment I should be looking for. The symptom seems to be the car shifts really quick from 1st to 2nd but the runout from 2nd to 3rd seems to be fine. What I mean by that is that I can't run the RPM's up in 1st before shifting to second, but I can run 2nd out.

Thanks in advance guys.

Typically, this is the throttle pressure adjustment, often called "kick-down". It is the linkage that comes off the carb and goes to a lever on the transmission. The linkage has length adjustment built-in.

You say that you get a quick shift from 1st to second and correct shift timing for 2nd to 3rd. This points to other problems that may not be fixed by a throttle pressure adjustment.

Correct. The timing from 1st to 2nd is much shorter than the timing from 2nd into 3rd? We've played with the throttle pressure adjustment on the tranny, but was curious where would we look next cause this didn't seem to make sense to us either.
