Picked up my van again from the auto wreckers. The owner of the place tells me that these slant sixes are "bulletproof" but the one they installed in the van first time broke a support on the cylinder, dropping it onto the piston, and when the piston came up, drove both through the wall of the tube. He guaranteed me it was nothing i did. Things break. Not typically in these slant six engines but things happen. It is running good though. Hope it keeps going like this.

I do not understand that explanation. What support is in the cylindar? Was he talking about a valve?

I'm with you Sam, I don't understand what he could be talking about. I can't think of any kind of internal support that could break and fall into a cylinder.

Maybe the piston support? (The part that the rod connects to) I too know of no other supports.

sorry, maybe he did say piston. just so happy to get the van back. Too bad the happiness only lasted until the next day, when a vet clinic insisted on putting down my little dog, and the police made sure the vet got his wish!! So much for diplomacy. RCMP will no longer be trusted by me. Neither will veterinarians. They killed my little dog. They murdered my "kid". So anyone who travels in Canada, avoid Whitecourt, Alberta at all costs, unless you like gestapo-style justice.

What did veterinarians and the RCMP claim was the reason your dog was unsafe?

i wanted to take him home. he had lymphoma. he still had a few weeks (with the right medication, maybe more) but apparently that's illegal. I've never heard of it from any other vets, but it'll never happen again
