I see in the Slantsickness hotrod story DD used a Sealer Power 223-338 gear and a ????? crank and chain? I want to try and advance my cam to bring the power on sooner...

You can purchase the off-set bushing kit where you drill-out the 1/4 dowel pin hole to 3/8 and use a bushing to set the advance.
Or,
You can drill, off-set mill, file-out / grind the cam gear hole bigger, to allow the cam pin to move forward, use shims and a degree wheel to find the proper amount of advance then bolt the gear down there. I use a small piece of lead shot and a washer large enough to cover the oblonged hole, I basically smash the lead or shim stock into any freespace left over after the shift in position.

Im pretty sure its a big block lower gear and chain, but not 100% sure.

Ok I knew that, I was just wondering what the PN was for the keyed gear and chain. I did some looking around in the books at work and the sealed power part number is subbed to a DynaGear number, C338 (I think, left my notes at work) and that gear is 28bux. This gear goes to a late 60's early 70's Dodge 225 truck...

How much should I try advanceing? The cam doesnt seem to "come on" till 3000rpm. If I can bring that down a hair it will be matched with my torq converter. And someone pointed out on /6.com that one tooth was worth 9.3something deg. Figger in cheap-ass-timming-set stretch and im sure it will come out to 8deg. Anyone know if this cam has "built in" advance like the CompCams ones?

The only multi keyed lower gear I know of is the JP Performance set. The factory lower gear and chain is the same as the BB Mopar with a double roller chain. (C339 (?) for the lower gear)

Forget about any "WAG" on setting-up a cam, the "move it one tooth" idea will be way to much (it works out to 18 *crankshaft* degrees, yes, all measurments are in crankshaft degrees)
Get yourself a degree wheel and see where your setting is at now, if it is at zero, set the cam 4 to 6 degrees advance to bring in more low rpm torque.
