I'm thinking of swapping the 2.76 to a 3.55 on my 68 Dart, but being my first post (yippy) and brand new to older cars, cost estimation eludes me

The stock 2.75 Differential to something with more kick. Sence it woant be a highway car, I'm not as worried about top speed as much as I am showing some crappy ricers what even american 6 muscle can do.

Rug was asking what size rear not the current gearing...the estimated price will depend on your rear and the shop in your area (7.25, 8.25, 8.75...Ford?)...

The last time I had my 8.25" in for a swap from 2.94's to a 3.55 it was about $350 plus they reconditioned the sure grip for me and it was a very reputable shop... I expect my next one to cost much more...

That really isn't too bad considering that an 8 3/4" would run about $500 for the 'chunk'/ center section...

-D, at the risk of being yelled at and told to go to the Slanted Network page, what is the name of that shop?

Thanks,
Seth

That shop is here in Salem, OR...I won't put them on as they already have more than enough work. They love working on old cars (and are a 3 rd gen family owned shop).
