A comment Charlie made in another post reminded me of something I have been meaning to share for years. When you have your crank shaft polished for rebuild, have them polish away the hearingbone pattern at the front and rear of the crank where the seals ride. This hearing bone pattern is intended for the old rope seals, and not the newer engineering plastic ones. The plastic seals will not seal against the hearing bone pattern, and will wear them out at an accelerated rate. I did not know this when I rebuilt my 360, and it leaked from the git, go. I was told about this by a local slanter before I rebuilt my slant, so had it polished correctly, and; No Leaks.

I'll have to check my crank and see what was done. Thanks for the tip.

I'm just sorry I didn't mention it earlier. Anybody in the midst of, or planning a rebuild, hopefully can take advantage of this.
