Can anyone here confirm whether all Slant rocker covers use the same bolt pattern, or was there more than one type? As far as I have been able to tell they are all interchangeable, but I am trying to find out on behalf of a guy down here who makes manifolds, side plates, rocker covers etc. for older engines under the name 'Aussiespeed', who has been told there are 2 types, and wants to confirm 100% what the correct answer is before he commits to making patterns for a cast alloy slant rocker cover. I know there are variations to the cover's shape for various applications, but need to confirm whether the bolt pattern/gasket shape ever changed at any point. What research I have done so far suggests there is only one gasket shape, but it would be nice to know for sure from those who have tinkered with them more than me.

The change happened with the hydraulic (non adjustable rocker arm) heads. Felpro gasket VS12680 (pic here) for the standard, VS50185 (pic here) for the hydraulic ones. Look at bottom left corner in the pics

Additional info to Pierre's post; That change was in 1980, and the slant was discontinued in 1987. I suggest your mate would be safe making one for the '60-'79 slants. (I do not know when the slant was no longer available in Australia.)

Oh.....We'd like to see pics.

Thanks guys - that should be all the info he needs, hopefully. Will post a pic if/when they are done, especially if I score one for my Toad!
Meantime, here's some of his current stuff:

Here's a 4BBl manifold he has just started reproducing for the Australian Chrysler Hemi six (was originally produced by John Cain, who made a lot of aftermarket manifolds back in the '60s, '70s and '80s.)

Off by one. The hydraulic lifters and the new valve cover bolt pattern came in '81, not '80. The 1960-1980 slants all use the same valve cover bolt pattern.

(There was a small production test run of hydraulic-lifter 225s in '78, but it's not clear whether they used the '60-'80 or the '81-'87 valve cover.)
