I vaugely recall two or three cars that you could call Gassers... One a 1937 Willy with the stock ugly nosed sheetmetal and a circa 1963-65 Valiant with some wild VHT coated three foot long fenderwell headers... And no fenderwells.

If you can get a copy of the 1962 Chrysler Performance Handbook, there are photos and articles on many slant6 cars. Featured is Pete McNicholls of Hazel Park, Mich and his 1937 'Stormin' Six'. He ran in G/Gas with a 170 motor. Also great article on Jim Nelson and Dode Martin with their C/Dragster with 225 motor. I have a motor that was out of a 41' Willys that ran also G/Gas out of Rhode Island . It ran a Hyper Pak 170 ...If you come to Redding, I can bring photos along..Wayne inChico

Im kinda doin a super stock/modified production style car with my '62, circa '65 ish. right now Im deciding on rim tire combos, I got a set of 14x6 cragars w/ pinner whites up front and a pair of stock 15" steelies out back possibly with M-H racemaster cheaters. All just looks right now, just gotta make it perform better now!

whites were pretty much on they way out by 1964... yeah there were a few hold outs, most notably , perhaps The Honker and sites bros.. by 1965 very few cars ran other than AR Torque Thrusts on front with steelies in back or steelies all around on BWs the bucks up guys like Landy etc ran TTs on all four... Yeah, fauble and occasionally some back water dealer sponsered car like Pine City, Sites, or Russ Funk ran pinners.. Hell funk ran pinners on his FXer... the 62 63 season was ww big, but the 65 look was AR west white steelies east pretty much... like to see pics of your car dan
